A glass handrail brings an unmatched advantage in transparency over any other type of material. It gives us the total connection to the outside without giving up security. The Glass Railing system has been designed so that nothing interrupts this transparency.
It is fixed only to the base, so that the vertical and horizontal elements disappear and the interior space fuses with the outside environment.
On the other hand, Glass Rail allows the total integration of the railing system in the work. As there are no borders, the perception of the facade, balcony or staircase where it is inserted gains in lightness and clean lines.
In addition, in 2016 the system has renewed the anchorage version at the forged front. An outer coating profile will achieve an optimal final finish once the installation is finished, also facilitating the design of the rainwater runoff to avoid stains and dampness.
Thanks to three grooved surfaces the fixing to forged increases the adhesion. The drainage of the glass chamber, if necessary, is effected in a simple manner in the base profile.
The transparency of the glass in a railing gives a space a high added value: it allows total visual connection with the outside without giving up the necessary security.
The Glass Rail system fixes the glass only in its base and avoids visual interruptions: vertical and horizontal elements are eliminated to strongly connect the space with the outside environment.
Architecturally a strong effect is achieved. The upper contour of guardrails or protective shells usually conforms to the silhouette of a building. As its edge disappears, the outer perception changes, becomes much lighter. The image of the building, balcony or staircase where it is applied changes substantially.
Glass Rail allows the total integration of the system on site. It contemplates several ways to fix the base support, depending on the work that is designed. It is possible to fix it to the surface of the floor, either in an internal part or in the wing of one of the profiles.
However, when it is necessary to bring the glass plane to the limit, it is possible to install the system on the front of the floor.
Like all elements of protection, the handrails are subject to regulations. The severe tests carried out on them aim to guarantee the safety of the system (“UNE 85-238-91 Railings, Test Methods” / Technical Building Code DB SE-AE “3.2 Actions on Railings and Divider Elements”) .
There are different levels of security, depending on the public or private nature of the space. For each level, and in any of the three possible positions, GLASS RAIL has been successfully tested. For private spaces it is possible to install laminated and tempered glass 8 + 8 or laminated 10 + 10. In the case of public spaces it is necessary to laminate and temper 10 + 10.
